Fanta Best rules

The rules of the game, explained the way your mate down the pub would explain them.

How it works, in two lines

No line-ups, no formations, no captain. Here you win (or lose) on predictions: every matchweek you pick a result for each match — 1, X, 2, Under, Over, Goal, NoGoal — and the system turns your picks into points and into real goals, to be used against a different opponent every week.

1

Creating a league and inviting friends

  • Whoever creates the league becomes the league admin and gets an invite code to share with anyone they like.P.S. the code is "open": anyone who receives it can pass it on to bring in new players — not just the admin.
  • A league can have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 15 players.
  • You can create a league at any point in the season, but by matchweek 19 (the end of the first half of the season) — after that, no new leagues for that competition.
  • When the admin considers the league complete, they click "Create Calendar": from that moment sign-ups close for good, even if you haven't reached 15 players.
  • "Best Leagues" or "Super Leagues" are sponsor leagues, with no player limits or sign-up deadlines.
2

How the calendar is created

The system automatically generates the head-to-heads for the whole season (or for the remaining matchweeks, if the league starts once the competition is already under way), with a single goal: total fairness — everyone must face everyone else the same number of times.

  • If there is an even number of you, everyone plays a head-to-head every matchweek.
  • If there is an odd number of you, a different player sits out each matchweek on rotation: no head-to-head for them that week, but they still have to fill in their slip (it counts towards the odds standings).
  • If the remaining matchweeks don't divide exactly by the number of players, the final matchweeks of the season become "free matchweeks": you only play the slip for the odds, with no head-to-head and no impact on the league standings.
  • The calendar also sets, matchweek by matchweek, who plays at home and who plays away (for the home bonus, see point 4, step 3).
3

The slip

  • Every matchweek, once the odds open (that is, at the end of the previous matchweek), you have until kick-off of the first match to fill in your slip.
  • To fill in your slip you need to make a prediction for each match in the competition linked to your league; when you're ready, submit it (don't worry — you can change it as long as the matchweek is still "open").
  • For each match in the competition linked to your league you'll have these predictions available: 1, X, 2, U2.5, O2.5, Goal, NoGoal.
  • The moment the first match kicks off: slips are locked and visible to everyone. Anyone who hasn't filled theirs in gets 0 goals and 0 odds points for that matchweek — so don't forget it.
  • Even players sitting out (see point 6) have to fill in their slip: it counts towards the odds standings.
4

How the slip turns into points and goals

Step 1 — Minimum threshold

You need to get at least 4 predictions right in a matchweek, otherwise that slip is worth zero, end of story.

Step 2 — Pure Odds Score

Take the odds (the ones shown in the app on the slip tab) of every prediction you got right and multiply them together. The riskier the odds you call correctly, the higher the number climbs.

Example: you correctly pick 1 (odds 2.10), 2 (odds 3.20), Goal (odds 1.60) and 1 (odds 1.80) → 2.10 × 3.20 × 1.60 × 1.80 = 19.35 pure odds points.

Step 3 — Home Bonus

If you're playing at home in your head-to-head that matchweek (the calendar decides it), your pure odds score is multiplied by 1.25. Whoever plays away gets no bonus.

P.S. the home bonus counts only towards the League standings; there is no home bonus in the League Odds and Global standings.

Step 4 — From score to goals

Your head-to-head score (with the bonus, where it applies) converts into goals according to these bands:

Head-to-head scoreGoals
0 – 150
15.01 – 351
35.01 – 602
60.01 – 1203
120.01 – 2004
200.01 – 4005
400.01 – 6006
600+7

If both players score more than 600 points in the same match, the 8th goal goes to whoever posted the higher score; if the scores are identical, the match ends 7–7.

Continuing the example: 19.35 × 1.25 = 24.19 → falls in the 15.01–35 band → 1 goal.

5

Postponed or suspended matches

  • If one or more matches in a matchweek are postponed, the matchweek closes anyway as soon as all the other matches have a final result: nobody waits for the rearranged fixture.
  • Postponed matches are excluded from the calculation, as if they had never been on the slip: only predictions on matches actually played count.
  • Don't worry — if matches are postponed, the minimum threshold (default: 4) drops by exactly the number of matches not played.
  • The rearranged fixture, whenever it's played, neither reopens nor recalculates the original matchweek: as far as Fanta Best is concerned, that match never existed.
6

Winning the head-to-head

Only the goals calculated above count, no other criteria:

  • Win → 3 points
  • Draw → 1 point
  • Loss → 0 points
7

The standings

There are three, and they measure different things:

  1. 1League standings (head-to-heads) — Wins, Draws, Losses, Goals For/Against, Goal Difference, Points. In case of a tie: goal difference first, then goals scored, then total pure odds score.
  2. 2League Odds standings — the sum of all your pure odds points for the season (home bonus excluded), among the players in your league only. It also includes the matchweeks you sat out and the free matchweeks at the end of the season.
  3. 3Global standings — the same thing but across every league in the same competition (e.g. all Serie A leagues).

All clear? Your slip is waiting.
